Married eight times to seven husbands, actress Elizabeth Taylor is as well known for her love life as she is for her on screen roles.
But serial bride grandmother Pat Higgins can top the Hollywood star's efforts when it comes to weddings.
Ms Higgins has already had eight failed marriages, and is now set to wed toyboy number nine - who is 32 years her junior.
Ninth time lucky? Serial bride Pat Higgins is due to marry her ninth husband, Mark Sanderson, during 2012
The 56-year-old, from Longbenton, North Tyneside, has never married a man older than her, and had one marriage that lasted just five days - while her longest is five years.
Now she is planning to make Mark Sanderson, 24, her ninth husband after the couple became engaged in September.
Higgins, who is studying for a sociology and social politics degree through the Open University, met the shop worker during a night out in Newcastle.
Ten months later, and despite her history of short marriages, Mark popped the question, with the couple due to marry in 2012.

Mr Sanderson's family are unhappy with the engagement, and despite taunts of 'man-eater' and 'black widow', the 56-year-old is unrepentant -and insisting that this marriage will last forever.
She said: 'People call me a man-eater and a black widow which is silly.
'I'm not a predator; I just like to be happy in life - what's wrong with that? I want to be with someone who treats me like I should be treated.
'Most of my family are very supportive of me, although Mark's family are not happy.'
Talking about her insistence that the marriage would last, she continued: 'I'm an eternal optimist and have thought every marriage was going to work.
'But this time I know it's going to last. People might say he is too young but age has got nothing to do with love.'
Ms Higgin's first wedding was to Michael Kelly in 1974, but that marriage lasted only three years. Her last came in 2007, when she married Barry McDermott.
She says that some of the marriages ended with accusations of infidelity but in other cases she says that husband and wife simply drifted apart.
After eight divorces, Pat has earned a reputation as a man-eater and as all of her grooms were younger than her she gained the cruel nickname of The Black Widow - named after the spider who eats her lovers.

But she says she pays no attention to the taunts.
She said: 'Younger men are more fun than men my age which suits me because I want to enjoy myself until I draw my last breath.
'I'm young at heart so young men suit me better.
'I haven't done anything wrong - I haven't killed anyone or done anything illegal.
'People get divorced all the time so I don't know how people can judge me.
'I have been divorced eight times but it hasn't always been my choice. I've tried to make every marriage work and this time will be no different.
'Once trust and communication go from a relationship it is difficult to carry on in an environment like that. The truth is, I have been unlucky in love.'
Pat's late parents were married for 48 years and she says she wishes she could be more like them.
She continued: 'When I walk down the aisle with my ninth husband I'll make a secret vow to myself, as well as to him.
'No more weddings, this time it has to last forever.'
